Smash the stigma.

As Head of Brand at batyr, I led the strategic vision and execution of an award-winning brand refresh that revitalised the organisation’s identity and reinforced its mission to break mental health stigma among young people.

Recognising the need for a flexible, engaging design system that could resonate across diverse audiences (from youth to corporate partners), I commissioned Designer Rice to bring this vision to life.

Guided by extensive qualitative and quantitative research with young people, the refreshed identity balances youthful energy without being childlike, and positivity without naïveté. This bold, optimistic brand features hand-drawn illustrations, vibrant colours, and a custom typeface, crafted to flex effortlessly across communications and campaigns.

Winning Silver at the Sydney Design Awards, the project also played a pivotal role in securing high-profile partnerships with Optus, the Seven Network, the Rare Impact Fund, and others, significantly amplifying Batyr’s reach and influence.

The result: a dynamic and authentic brand transformation that energised the community, strengthened batyr’s voice, and advanced vital mental health conversations nationwide.
